Medical Assistant - Full Time & Part Time
We are a small thriving practice where everyone is treated like a family and we are seeking to hire a seasoned medical assistant to join our team. As a team member at Dr. West’s office, you will help provide total patient care for our children. Duties include providing total patient care such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, rooming patients, taking and recording information, preparing and administering vaccinations, performing routine specimen collection and tests, and managing the flow of patients. In addition, you will assist with referrals, check insurance eligibility, file charts, and process paperwork. As a Medical Assistant with Dr. Bruce West’s office, you will learn from health care experts as you work side by side to provide care for patients in a fast-paced setting. You will build meaningful relationships with patients, their family members, health care providers and office staff while providing high quality direct patient care.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant certification program.
- Strong verbal and writing English skills.
- Knowledge of child safety measures.
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomatology and recognition of life-threatening medical problems.
- Ability to obtain accurate vital signs.
- Ability to assist in medical emergencies and office procedures.
- Ability skillfully to administer oral, IM, and subcutaneous medications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and patient safety measures.
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
- Strong computer skills (data entry and typing).
- Honest, dependable, and conscientious.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) computerized practice management and other record keeping systems.
- You’ve worked as a Medical Assistant for more than a year.
- You’ve had 1+ years’ experience in a specialty field.
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. We will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations and will obtain proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.
